I admit, there are times I have trouble not referring to the books, but the show has departed from them in enough ways that I almost feel like it would be a mistake to interpret the show based on what happens in the books: there's no guarantee things are going to play out the same way. (It's hard in particular with characters who, in the books, are destined to betray someone else—but, again, there's no guarantee they will in the show, so I try to react to what is shown, not what is "known.")

Between you and me, I actually like the show better. (There, I said it.)

I'll also review at least the pilot of Aaron Sorkin's new show—more if I like it—but somehow I doubt that's going to be quite as much fun as Game of Thrones.

Like you, I have read all the books and I must compliment you on your steadfast refusal to offer up anything in the way of spoilers. Also, let me add my voice to yours – more Momoa, somehow, someway! I have liked him even since Stargate Atlantis, but his work in Game of Thrones (and particularly in this episode) was just outstanding.

Now, how to tide myself over until next season?!
